Title: Auxiliary Fuel for Endurance Racing
Post by: idefendm on January 25, 2011, 02:20:59 AM
I found a realy kewl 1/2 gallon Go-Kart tank that will fit neatly on centerline of the floorboards of an S8 or S9. It will require a micro transfer pump and some creative "plumbing", but it's doable. I've ordered al the components to install one on my Kymco S9 Malossi 70cc Racer preparatory to the Salton Sea 396-Mile TT Race. Installation pix to follow.

On November 5th 2011, my 0.5 gallon auxiliary fuel tank proved inadequate at Hell's Loop T.T. 375-Mile X-Treme Endurance Race! 3rd Overall/1st Place 125cc Class.

Tom Wheeler (www.wheelerpowersports.com (http://www.wheelerpowersports.com)) won First Place Overall/1st Place 50cc Class at Hell's Loop T.T. 375-Mile X-Treme Endurance Race. Brilliant strategy installing an aluminum racing fuel cell behind the seat of his Kymco People T2 50cc racer!

I wonder how much fuel the frame could hold? Seal up all the tubes, turn it into an auxiliary fuel tank, plumb it with a float switch to keep the main tank topped. Anyone ever done this?
