Title: 2017 Super 8 150 keeps dying
Post by: silverbullet111 on March 27, 2018, 11:01:53 PM
I had just bought a brand new super 8 150 And having issues with it running after dark.
First 5 miles it ran great but at evening after sitting few an hour or so I crank it up and get about 100 yards and it just shuts off and will not crank back up. I sent it back to the dealer shop and they fixed it and brought it back to me running. It ran great all day long. I thought it was fixed but after 6 pm it did it again. Again I sent it to the dealer shop. He said he cleaned everything from gas tank to carb and got it running again kept it over night just to see if it would crank in the morning. He had no problem with it and sent it back to me. As soon as I get home from work I decided to test ride and AGAIN after 6 pm It just shuts down and will not crank.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I find it really strange that it does it only after 6 pm

I have a 2018 Super 8 150 same issue.  I have found if it doesn't start I loosen the gas cap and then re tightened it will start.  Seems to be a vapor lock problem starving the carb of gas.  Has nothing to do with time your attempting to start it.

Ahah! Vent the gas cap! Vacuum operated tank vent valve sticks in nearly all scooter, regardless of model or brand. Drove me nuts on a Genuine Buddy 150. The Buddy forum called it the "Stall of Shame!"

Hey guys I have a problem I own a 2014 Kymco Super 8 150. Just recently had a 28mm Nibbi carburetor kit install. I proceeded to do a valve adjustment and noticed both Valve Springs were stuck closed and not moving when I rotated the flywheel to T.D.C. Any suggestion of how to fix this???(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180418/f9cdae10e428ec4c4b7c6ba721af42db.jpg)

Was this scooter running OK before you opened it up?

I decided to stay with the original camshaft then I proceeded to do an valve adjustment I noticed that the spring valves didn't shift up and down like they're supposed to they were stuck in a closed position
