Title: Buying a cheap zx50 what to look for parts
Post by: GVH on May 05, 2017, 02:45:36 PM
OK I have a chance at a 2005 ZX 50 for $400 CDN. Needs tires otherwise runs drives. Has 10 K kilometers any common problems to look for ?

Also what tires are people running.

Thanks GVH pic from the ad.

Oh well no replies but bought it anyways. Stored in a shed for two years. Came with a medium 3/4 helmet with flip up shield and ladies large gloves. It was hard to start dead battery cracks in side wall of tires. I pulled the sparkplug for a look. Still don't have any BR8HSA yet pack of 10 on order. Scooter had a BR8HS installed and well oiled and warn out. Dropped a new BR8HS in and it fired and idled easy. Battery has been on charge all night. Can't get past 8.4 Volt. It's dead. I will order one. Tires ?? I think I will go with Shinko SR009 Radial as they are in the proper size.

Left is from my Super 9LC,    Right is from the ZX50

tires really depends on your style riding but these are good scoots they are the closest to the old Honda engines Kymco use to build and can be made to go really fast.
