Title: A lot of scoot for the $
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on March 15, 2017, 09:29:54 PM
A clean 2012 SILVERWING
$3895.00
2,740 miles on the odometer
These big HONDA scoots seem to be bargains.
At that mileage it is a new scooter....priced at rather less than a lot of new 300's that don't have the Wing's ABS.
A whole lot less complicated than a 650 Burgman....parts & panels a lot less expensive, too.

Seems like a nice deal though not all Silverwings have ABS the older ones are an even better deal. I don't think the Burman 650's are that complicated. I suppose somtimes an older bike might need some things just from sitting so long but that depends on each case. I just purchased a 2003 Aprilia Atlantic 500 with 4,900 miles on it from a guy who had just bought it 7 months ago when it had only 1,800 miles on it. He had some issues with stalling and the battery. First thing I did was to tear into it, inspect, and service it. When I got the bike it had some "extra" screws in a bag. Through the course of working on it I found where they all went and put then back. The oil/filter change was straight forward but when I pulled out the dipstick for the transmission (rear diff) oil came pouring out. I drained it into a measuring cup and found who ever last worked on it put twice as much oil in as the spec calls for.

Awesome bike and price too Tom.  Why don't you buy it as you said you want a SW?  Of all the many Maxiscooters I have owned, my 2003 SW ABS has been the most reliable, maintenance free, comfortable and enjoyable. My SW is a keeper
Next month I'm riding it on a 1600 mile trip to Missouri to attend a M/C meet and greet. If I were looking for a SW, I'd jump on this one in a heartbeat

Looks like a great deal, as long as the dealer doesnt add on prep, fees, tax, tag, etc.  etc.
