Title: 2012 Like 50 2T: Complete setup for big bore?
Post by: Viceroy on October 14, 2016, 11:28:48 AM
Hello,

I have a 2012 Kymco Like 50 2T. I want to do a 70cc kit, but I don't really know what to do as far as supporting parts and tuning. I don't want to go crazy, but I do want the engine modification to be well supported.

I'd like to be able to get around 55mph if possible. Just enough to stay ahead of local traffic. Drivers here are not friendly.

What of exhausts, in particular? I want something that will deliver the power, but not wake up the dead with noise.

Thanks for any help.

55 is hard to do on the Like without alot of mods with a BBK, a lil CVT tuning, different exhaust and carb you can be in upper 40s probably but mid 50's you will need to install different gears as Like isn't made for speed.

Thank you very much! Didn't expect to get both detailed and experienced information.

There are 3 of us who have achieved over 60mph on Like 50 Myself, 245luigi, and ParaIndiana I am the newest and mainly followed their build if you look back in the section you can find their posts I have the Stage 6 upgear kit compared to 245s malossi upgear kit to pull over 50 consistently it will take some work lol only stock left on mine is rear pulley and crankshaft my mods are in my signature below.

Hello everybody,

I bought a Kymco Like 50 4 stroke in March 2017, brand new. I haven't found a dedicated forum thread for my scooter, so I am asking my questions here.

My scooter is restricted, most likely the CDI is restricted as I do not exceed 45 kmh even when riding down hill.

What I want to obtain is:
- 70, maximum 80, kmh top speed;
- a little bit more power when moving from stand still or when passing small cars.

As I do not want to spend a lot, while I know nothing about scooters, I was thinking of buying a derestricted CDI and a 70cc kit.

Could someone recommend me what to buy?

I am a plain financial analyst, wearing a suit while riding the scooter and taking the subway when it rains.

Thank you,
Cristian.
