Title: 500i differential swap
Post by: smokingcrater on May 19, 2016, 01:21:40 AM
So just curious, has anyone looked at putting an open/selectable rear diff in the 500i?  Not sure if the 450 turf diff would fit, and besides, it is impossible to find and serious $$$ new.  Since it is a branded arctic cat diff, I have to imagine there is an arctic cat open diff out there somewhere...

Did you ever get an answer to this? I want to do the same thing to my 500i.

Kymco builds a UXV500 Turf model. It uses an open diff, meaning in normal mode its in one wheel drive. You can then switch to 4wd and 4wd lock diff.
Should be the same rear 3rd member with a different ring/pinion set up.
A dealer can help you. He can call Kymco Tech Services, they can give the info on retro fitting to a Turf rear end.
