Title: HELPPPPPP Scooter Wont start
Post by: Hawkins654 on October 11, 2014, 10:26:44 AM
My scooter is a 07plate LC, was riding fine for a few months then all of cut out when waiting at the lights,
when trying to restart the ped it wouldn't start.

being a rookie with scooters it has completely fried me as to what's wrong.
I have read a lot of posts and spoke to a few people to try and diagnose the problem.

-Have looked inside and I am getting fuel to the spark plug, changed it and tested against the frame for a spark.
-Changed the battery as was dead from trying to start,
-The starter relay was corroded on the contact points so changed,
-Tried to kick start and doesn't seem like anything is there,

When I try to start the ped it does try to start on the electric but just sounds like its just using the battery and the engine is not kicking in.

Can someone please help me im giving up with it now hahaha

If its getting spark and gas and has compression it will start so make sure that its getting enough spark and see if spark plug is wet after trying to start if it is wet and has spark then it probably doesnt have enough compression do you or can you get a compression gage to check it

i havent got the kit to do a compression test, but i have just watched a video on youtube of a scooter with low compression and its doing exactly the same as mine.
Will get this checked by a friend who has the gauge etc.

if this is the reason for the scoot to not start what would need replacing? piston rings?

thanks for the help

Have u tried starter fluid? My 02 lc did the same thing. Turns out I blew a head gasket. Was starting to burn water/coolant.
