Thank you for all the good advice.
Got my GTi300 today, what a bike!!
-
It's a great bike. I hope you enjoy it for many years.
First thing you have to do is chop off the exhaust, and get a 1%'er sticker. It' really keeps the cops off your ass.
Good luck.

Congrats! Post up a photo!
-
I am confident you will like the GT.
It is a great scoot.

I love mine and you'll love yours too. Do yourselft a favor and go over the whole thing especially the exhaust shield and tighten every bolt and screw you can find and check them once a month or so. I lost two exhaust bolts. Also be careful the head of one of my exhaust shield bolts broke off. Ive been waiting for a month for the replacements.

Congrats on the 300! What brand of windshield is on it?

Thanks for the photo, that is good looking!

Thanks! The screen is the Puig. Getting used to the screen, first time to have one on my scooters.
Planning a few mods, will post photos soon...

Nice scoot Budz!
The GT300i is probably my favorite Kymco scoot.
Hope to someday be able to afford one myself.
And I like the Puig screen. I got a Puig on my Super8 150, and I love it.

A few mods:
Pugi windshield - off
DOT turn signals - off (euro turn signals installed)
Rear mud guard - off
DOT reflectors - off
Top box - off
Next mods:
Revise the (crappy) OEM seat
Reflective tape on wheels (silver color)
-
You're off to a great start. Dump all the bull crap, and make it you own. Nice.
-
I want to see the taped wheels when you do it.
-
I wish to restore the original signals can you please explain how you did it and what parts and tools you needed. Also where is your plate if you removed the mount?
-
After removing the rear mud guard, where did you mount the license plate and light?
I'm thinking of doing that to my Super8. Trying to get some ideas for doing it nice and clean looking.

Had it done at a shop
Turn signals:
They installed a sockets and bulbs soldered wires to turn signal wires.
Also, I think someone on this forum has posted instructions somewhere
License plate:
I have no light on the tag, and it's tucked under the lip (far too many traffic cameras in this area). They took the bracket out and bolt the plate as shown in the photos

have already stated. Go through and snug up nuts and bolts. This is something that should be done on any new motorcycle or scooter.
On the GT, there is a small shiny shield on the exaust pipe that tends to loosen because of expansion and contraction caused by heat.
Put some RED loctite on these screws or you stand a chance of loosing the shield.
Enjoy and ride safe.

Sure enough, heat shield started to rattle, I took your advice with loctite problem solved....

The new seat! Had the seat rebuild by John Longo motorcycle seat upholstery (www.johnlongo.net (http://www.johnlongo.net)), great guy does great work. He used new stiffer foam to shape the seat geometer for my height and made new cover with new material. Bike feels like a whole new scooter, money well spent!

If I understand your mods correctly. Your scooter is now illegal to ride in KS and I suspect most everywhere in the USA. They pull over people for plate lights here.

f*** the police

Luckily I don't live in KS! No issues with the police in this area so far...
