What I am trying to find out is, how long should the drive belt last on my 2011 Kymco 300i Downtown. I have had my belt changed now 3 times. My first belt lasted 16,995 miles. Belt #2 lasted 2,100 miles and I have just had #3 belt put on. Everywhere I read, they say it should last from 6,000-15,000 miles. But should be changed at 10,000 miles. I have only found one person that only got 6,000 miles. All belts were put on by the same shop. So how long should a belt last??

the manual says 20,000 km. change the belt ,. I changed my belt at 22,000 km. and then played with the Wt. of the sliders and shaved the variators 1mm. on each side. the belt looked like new , so I put the old belt back on ,I have another 10,000 km. on the old belt , but I watch the condition of the belt, carry tools and spare belt I will see how far I can go with the same belt,

What belt is the shop putting in? The factory spec belt should be replaced every 20000 km. A lower grade belt may not last as long. Are you getting the Kymco factory belt or another very high quality substitute?

I have not seen another belt for the downtown, Mitsuboshi is the only supplier, that I know of,.

Snow. Did you have to pay for the second belt? I would be talking to the shop owner about 2100 miles.

Hi snowman ,how is it that your belt lasted only 2100 miles ? I am pretty sure something is wrong with your variator,or is a third grade belt , you should investigate that ???
