Title: Super 9 - Transmission Cover GASKET Missing

Hi

I've just bought a 2009 50cc Super 9 AC.....

The transmission cover gasket is missing.....and I'm struggling to find a replacement.....any ideas where I can get one (i'm in the UK)...or even if its necessary - would some "instant gasket" do the same job?

  if your tranny is the same as mine ( 300i downtown)  it is vented,.   and 1/2 of my gasket is gone , so I dont think it is something to worry about,.  order a new gasket from powersportswarehouse.com    install when ever,,

I wasn't too sure about using the kick start without it??

I'm struggling to find a gasket - anyone had any success with an alternative product, eg rubber strips or "instant gasket" ?

Make one. You'll need a cornflake box and a small toffee hammer. You'll find a guide on YouTube

Will this be enough on the Super 9.....I thought that it needed a rubber gasket....or is that not necessary?

Does it rain often where you live? If not, then you might not need the gasket.

I was assuming that it needed the rubber gasket to get the clearances right for the kick start etc??? or am I being overly concerned about no big deal???

How thick is the original gasket? The bigger Kymcos that I work on have a very flat fiber gasket. Put the cover on and see if the kick start engages.

Ok - I've managed to sort it

The problem was more that onefold

When I removed the transmission cover the kick start mechanism was loose as well as the gasket being missing

When I fixed the kickstart mechanism the cover sat much better against the casing.

I took about 2 mill off the length of the cover locating pegs and the cover fitted nice and flush
