after trying to drain my oil for an oil change the plug is stripped
any ideas on how to get this out.. per say vice grips
so annoyed
also if anyone has a link to a replacement drain plug/bolt would be great
-
Did you strip and destroy the threads on the pan, or did you round off the head of the drain plug bolt?
-
HI , it's easy done the nut is very soft
here is a link for just the sump plug and oil seal
http://www.exportstrength.com/product_info.php?products_id=300 (http://www.exportstrength.com/product_info.php?products_id=300)
and here is a link for the same plus the spring and oil strainer
all Free world wide delivery

Hope that helps
When that happened to mine i used a combination of Punch and hammer near the edges to start it moving a little) and then mole grips
Good luck !

rounded the heads off the bolt.. it was in super tight and I did not have a 17mm socket
so I kinda did it too myself.. gonna order a replacement one
thanks guys
-
Are you unable to turn it now with a proper 17 mm socket and a 3/8" drive ratcheting wrench?

went to my mechanic friend, we were able to get it off and back on
I did order another bolt from my dealer
will not have to worry about this till fall or possibly spring
