Could some one with a fuel injected x500 tell me what RPM there bike is at, at 80 MPH? I know their rollers are 3 grams heavyer than my carbed 2007. I am asking this because I watched a you tube vid of a guy doing 80 MPH at 6,000 RPM on his Burgman 400. My bike at 80 would be near red line. It's just something I would like to know? :-*

I'll look in to it once i get the registration sticker renewed.

When i had a new belt, it redlined at 87mph indicated

at 70mph, i know it is at 6500rpms.

at 80 I'll let you know.

Big O. Was that at a true 70 MPH? We know how far off the speedo's are on the X500's! Thanks. :-*

I hit 80 mph today.  80 mph @7100rpm.  I know the speedo is a known weak point.  I think it is more accurate with the Michelin City Grips.

It is stable at 80.  Big Ass Scooter moving quickly!

Thanks, but it's funny how a 400cc scoot could turn only 6000 RPM at 80 MPH? I guess this explains the better gas mileage of the 400? :-*

I took my 500i on an out-of-town run this morning (in South Africa) and at 90mph (on speedo) the engine was turning at ±7100rpm (true speed as per GPS 124km/h). Fuel consumption: 20.65km/litre. We are metricated here so not sure about mpg figure.

Mine would be similar, but I am 6'3", weigh 255 and live at 5300ft elevation. It was worse before I reworked the airfilter and airbox. The X500 does not have a very wide range CVT which I expect is due to the same engine/CVT being used in the Kymco 500cc ATVs (with a few changes I suspect).

We also have a 2005 Burgman 400 (385cc actual) and it's CVT is much more responsive with a better range. The Burgie will also beat the X500 in a drag race up to about 40mph. Where the X500 shines is the tractor like grunt from the engine which pulls well here in the mountains.

I checked, the guy is using heavyer Doctor pulley sliding roller weights. No wonder his RPM is that low. :-*

6.2k at a rock solid 70mph (gps) on my '13 xc500 yesterday on a section of freeway with little or no gradient.

Thats much lowwer than my 2007, so the 3 gram heavyer rollers in the fuel injected bikes should be better tourers at freeway speeds. Thanks. :-*

about  7000 rpm  at  about 80 mph with my  big  250 lbs plus butt.
