Found these photos today - interesting to compare the styles of the 2 scooters.

FYI- also visited my first Vespa dealer today - looks like an upstanding and honest place to buy a Vespa or Piagio scooter. He had a bunch of Vespas in there - man those things are pretty - and DO I love the look of those Vespa seats!!
 Very large and clean service and sales area - friendly owner and is motivated to sell you a pretty Italian scooter.
Those Vespas are superb looking scooters!

Thanks for the side by sides.  The lines for each scoot are quite similar. What size engine is in the Vespa?  I did notice that the tail pipe of the Vespa looks like a much bigger inside diameter verses the Kymco.

Very interesting! I didn't know our scooter is that close a copy.
I really like the look of our scooter without the trunk. Not enough to give up all that storage though. If our under seat storage was a lot bigger I'd ditch the trunk.
