Title: Bad gas mileage on a 2010 Super 8

I just got it back from the shop after the battery died on my 2010 with 800ish miles on it.

I filled it up at 825 and now I am at about 838 and I am sitting on just over half a tank.

Am I really getting this bad of a gas mileage or is my guage broken or what? Ideas anyone?

I have to go back to the shop since the kickstarter broke when I tried to start it after the battery died. :(

My scoot had bad mileage when new and improved after lots of miles riding... now, the odo reads 16,000+  mileage got better...engine runs smoother.... 

Some tuning and better oil plus lots of riding will improve mileage...

You need fill it up, ride it a reasonable distance, 50 miles or so, then fill it up again.  Then calculate gas mileage.  Do this a few times and average the results.  The gas gauge may be way off.

I normally get 70-75 MPG and run 45+MPH most of the time.  I've gotten over 80.  If your getting much less than that, something is wrong

I have filled her up 3 times now, each time with just about a gallon and I have been getting about 50 miles a gallon I guess since I fill it up right when it hits the red zone on the fuel gauge. The dealer is ordering a new fuel sender or some part under warranty to see if it does anything. Also, yesterday while riding I noticed that my headlight would not brighten when pulling the throttle, but instead shut off completely. I know they are supposed to dim, but not turn OFF when riding. I parked it, restarted the bike and it was back to normal... That kinda freaked me out.

The CDI sends a signal to the Light Control Module that controls the lights.  Either the signal got lost or the LCM malfunctioned. If you bypass the LCM, you can blow a fuse since the hi/low function of the light share a ground which means it can power the light your not trying to use after it has passed through the lights.  I wouldn't worry about it unless the problem persists.
