Title: Suggestion for an adhesive for chrome trim on each side of center panel
Post by: xbeatle on June 04, 2013, 02:45:50 AM
So, one of the welded connection points that keeps the long thin silver chrome trim design attached to the center panel came unattached.

Due to the elliptical design of this long thin piece of chrome(1 on each side) using regular adhesive probably won't due...

Anyone ever have to fix this issue..don't want part of it sticking out as the remaining contact points are sure to follow.

Thanks so much..

Use Goop.... I used this on my car's side moudlings...

Just apply it.. scrape off excess glue... put some masking tape to hold the parts while glue dries...

3M makes a trim adhesive that works really well. You can often find it at an auto parts store.

Get the tube, not the spray for the best results. Make sure you can secure it in place for the duration of its drying time, and clean the area well with rubbing alcohol...

How big is the scratch...?  My kymco is also black and I use any black touch up paint... or paint pen.

For very small scratches, you can use a black permanent marker...
