I bought a GT about two weeks ago from a local dealer.
Yesterday I received a thick envelope in the mail from Kymco. Inside it contained two pre-paid $50. rewards cards. It stated the cards could be used to purchase gas, accessories, or what ever.
Also included was a pamplet with a lot of fine print, "terms and conditions". I read it completely.
Normally I am reluctant to use these kinds of cards because of a catch 22, or gimmicks.
My question is this: Have other Kymco vehicle buyers received these cards and used them without problems?.
Is this a simple gift from Kymco, or a gimmick?.
I would like to use these cards toward my first service expense.

Hello, Yes that was a promotion running at Kymco's web site when I bought my Like 200i a few weeks ago -
I mentioned it to my salesman, he was clueless but he looked it up on line and saw what I was talking about. He said the $100 would come directly from Kymco in the mail.
$50 for smaller engines, $100 for the others.
It's legit ~!
Which reminds me, I'm going to contact Kymco and ask where my gift card is!

Thanks OldScoot.
I will contact my dealer maintenance department and see if they accept these cards as payment.
Nice gift. Thanks Kymco.
ps: How are you liking the 3 and the 5?.
You were right about the GT. It is a nice scoot.

Good for you mrmike.
OldScoot usually knows what he is talking about.
He is the one that turned me on to the GT.

A similar promotion is going on in Canada; I just received a $100 Esso gas card. I was completely unaware; so, it was a pleasant little surprise.

Good for you too Fogie.
Your post about Esso caught my attention. When I was a young boy I worked at an Esso full service station in the states.
The name Exxon has been used here for many years.
Sounds strange to see Esso. Did not know that name was still used in Canada.
Just found out that the name Esso is still used in most countries.
Exxon/Mobile in the USA.

No free cards here... Just a free helmet and Kymco jacket...

I'd probably have preferred a helmet and jacket; I won't put Esso in my bikes because they don't sell an ethanol-free grade. In Canada, Shell's 91 octane blend has no ethanol; so, that's what I use. I'll have to use up the gas card on my cars.

Emailed Kymco over the w/e and left a message with them today - then checked the mail box. Of course , there they were - 2 pretty $50 Visa cards and a nice hand signed card from KYMCO, Cool!
I should not be so negative - sometimes you get a neat scooter and some bucks (plus every time I came to look at the scooter in the showroom I mentioned to the salesman that if they 'could not' get the boss to move on the price - I'd expect no less than $100 towards a helmet. On my final visit I told him I'd take the LX blue & white one and while he was writing that up I'd be over looking at my free helmet!
1/2 hour later he came over and handed me a $100 gift card from the dealer.
In 40 yrs I have never before had to pay sticker price on a vehicle - but it was buy my Kymco here or 50 miles away. One more negative about living in a small midwestern town. (PS: I got fitted for a nice helmet - and then bought it online for $50 less. I'll use the gift card to help pay for my first service.)
If this place was a scooter shop - it would be a whole different story - I would want to support them because they would have treated me like a valued scooter customer.
