Has anyone replaced the lock on the Kymco DT 300i. I want to put a key lock but want to see if someone has done this before, what type on lock they used?
I just got one today a 2012 new replacing a 2010 Piaggio MP3 250.
I love the bike wish had a little more storage but would like to secure the glove box with a key lock.

I dont put anything in the glove box except a pencil and my tire gauge, everything else go,s in the seat box , and if I go for the day I have the givi E55 top box,.

I am sure you could find a lock set that would fit, but the door if quite flimsy and still would not be very secure.

I resolved it got a Combination Lock and made it work. Not looking for max security but now I can keep my Wiley sunglasses and other items and less risk of someone taking them.
The lock I got from McMater-Carr.com in Atlanta. Fast delivery huge selection and cheap prices. $8.84 for the combo lock in black. Much cheaper than ACE or Home Depot. They have many others I just din't want to have another key. The only alteration I did is took the metal cam and notched like the factory plastic one, I don't have the proper tools but made do a little ruff but works great.

Thats pretty cool how you did that lock set-up. I was considering such a move but in the end I feel like the flimsiness of the door itself pretty much determines whether or not a thief is gonna be able to get in. Even with a lock its a 2 second pop-open with a flat head screw driver. Still you did a great job.

A thief won't bother with a glove box if he can steal your scooter... ;)
