Scooters - 125 to 300 => Downtown 300 => Topic started by: kobusfer on March 26, 2013, 01:07:51 PM

After reading just about every available article on the Downtown, I decided this is my ideal long-term bike. I have never been a biker and now at 40 decided to get something beating the traffic, rising fuel costs and yes... experience this new adventure.
I bought a 125cc Chinese scooter and had this for about 6 months, quickly realizing this is not my ideal commuting scoot. 6 weeks ago I received my Downtown and what a difference. I cannot even find something to compare the two with. The Downtown is in a total different league.
I now have about 850kms on the clock and counting, loving every single moment.
Thank you for all the great advice and interesting reads on this forum. Great to know there will always be some online help when needed.

welcome to the downtown world,. I have enjoyed my downtown for two years now, and 28,000 km. later its still the joy in my life, the only thing ive really needed changing was the lights , I installed HID lights , every thing else was a lark, fun things to do,.

Yes, welcome to the group! Got some smart folks here who are "spring loaded" to the help position! Very pleased with my 300i, too.

I agree, still knee deep here as well. Already a month behind on my riding. :(

April 14th here, snowing right now and close to 20 degrees below the normal high forecasted here in Minnesota for about the next five days. Probably be a month before they clean up the sand and premium riding weather.

jwalz I am also in Mineesota and have gotten in about 7 days of riding so far. Of course there has been several days between them. Hope next weeks forcast is correct and we can ride for ever... or until it snows again in May. :'(
