I started my B&W 250 yesterday-- ran fine. I let it set and later tried again only to find that the key will turn, but not enough to start??

Hello Bob, I had this same issue with a car ignitiion switch. It turned out I just needed a replacement. When the switch goes to the cranking position it just does not make contact so the starter does not energize. Does the starter spin and not start the engine or is there no reaction at all? Len

No, it is as though the switch locks at igniton only-- it will not turn enough to start. This seems to be a physical stop before it moves enough to start. I hope I don't have to replace it.

Try some spray cleaner and lubricant...It might just be accumulated dirt...

Vivo may be correct. It could just be a bit of grit not allowing the lock tumbler in the switch to reach start position.

I would use compressed followed by some graphite.
