Title: Rear Drum Brake on a 20+% Steep Grade

This has been touched on before, but is it normal for the rear drum brake alone to not be able to hold when stopped at a light on a sharp grade....say 20% (San Francisco-type grade).  This happen to me on my brand new (odo @ 77mi) scooter.  It occurred in the brief moments in attempting a twist of the throttle to begin again still moving upwards, having to release the front brake.  Afterward, on level ground and out of traffic, I realized that I can actually forcefully push the scooter backwards with the drum brake applied.  All other functions are normal including pads, brake mechanism, however the brain of the owner is is questionable.   ;D

    I think you have a little new brake glazing you have to wear out , before the brakes work best, takes about 100 miles to wear in,

Yes, rear brakes need breaking in.... and our left hand is really weaker than our right...

Also still is happening to my scoot...somewhat weak rear brakes... odo @ 12,000+
