Title: EGR Block off plate?

First off, I understand what an EGR Valve does. Now, My question is why would you want to block it off? Will doing so give improved performance? Pro's & Con's? Reasons Why?

Will not improve performance but this EGR is one of the main causes of engine backfires. That's all. ;)
