Title: kymco exciting 400
Post by: navy1983 on November 22, 2012, 09:13:40 PM
Happy thanksgiving everyone at KYMCO,
Question one :  When is the exciting 400 going to hit the states? I have been waiting for a mid size scooter that is reasonably priced.

Question two: how much does the 400 cost?

Question three: refer to question one.

regards S Bathurst

The price in EU will be about the same as the 500.

And the scooter is not called "exciting".  ::)

Considering that the "new" xciting 500 ri just got released in the USA this year.... and it has been out in other countries for ... what 3 or 4 years already?  It will probably be 3 or 4 years for the xciting 400 to be released here.

and then there is the myroad which was out in??? 2009?  in other countries.... still waiting >_<

It's all down to your local importer.

They decide what they can get.
It's a bit different then with big brand motorcycles.

From what I have heard (but not sure to what extent it is true)  getting through all the US government regulations and tests and additions to and for each model and model change are a chore that takes a long time >_<

Good point there... but how come Chinese motorcycles and scooters are up to date in the U.S.? ::) and there are lots of them...

I think they must have an easier qual program for small volume producers.
Honda won't bring in a model they have been selling for years elsewhere but
some brands will bring in a model for 1 year then drop it. I think if the basic
design is qualified it is easier somehow. Like a GY6 doesn't have to redo some
of the testing. Not sure why someone like BMW has to do major stuff to reduce
pollution and the scooters don't seem to do much..?

Maybe it all depends on who the government is borrowing money from and how much they owe to them ?? :p thus Chinese have an easier time get things in. but who knows for sure..... it all seems shifty to me
