When you change the blinker bulbs to LED they don't flash right as the load
is less than expected by the flasher. The Xciting 700i uses LED's for blinkers
(at least in Korea) so the flasher for that scoot works with LED's. Here's

Thanks Randy,
I would like to [ eventually ] change all my lights to LED.
Want to have the unused wattage available to other stuff.
. . . Maybe a charging outlet under the seat . . . or heated grips . . .
Do you see any problem with NOT using as much wattage ?

Well actually the regulator on a bike works by shunting power to ground.
The less power you use the more gets shunted to ground, which isn't a
problem unless the regulator over heats. If that happens the output
voltage will go up and you'll cook your battery. It happened on my BMW
(I thought I was doing good to use less power!) so I had to move the
regulator to a cooled spot.
I'm not sure but there might not be much extra power available on this scoot.
It's speced at 169 watts at 4000 RPM's. It's unknown how much the ignition and
fuel injection takes.

Actually, I'm not so sure our voltage rectifier / regulator (VRR) is a ground shunt type. Looking at the wiring diagram for our bike, I see no ground connection from the VRR.
But I do see inside the VRR diagram that there's an IC connected to three SCRs... perhaps they're using that chip to monitor system voltage, then using phase control to turn on/off the SCRs to regulate the amount of current flowing to what the system voltage calls for (low voltage, IC kicks SCRs on more often; high voltage, IC keeps SCRs off more often).

Hmm I just had a look and there's a green wire that goes straight to the negative of the battery.
Most bike's regulators are the simple ground type so as to keep the high voltages under control...

Yeah, you're right. Is there a way to convert it to an alternator type setup, where there's a regulator that varies the excitation current to the alternator to vary the output voltage?
That'd be more efficient, only producing as much as the system needs.

All that stator regulator stuff is nonsense. Forget about it.
Look for your relay (easy to find by the clicking) and see if it is a 2 wire or three wire set up. The relay for LED is like 4 bucks.
