I wanted to try a different weight roller so I mixed up some epoxy and
added it to the center of the rollers. It makes them 0.6 - 0.7 gm heavier.

did you fill the hole completly, or did you drill it out a little to get the Wt. you wanted,.

Initially I filled the hole. The scoot ran a lot lower RPM's but acceleration
up hills seemed slower. So I drilled them out a bit. It went back to running
like before I added weight but I had some grease getting on the belt and
thought that made it slip a bit. So I filled them up again for another try.

Well took it out today for a ride. It runs pretty good! I can cruise at
5500 RPM's and when I accelerate it jumps up to 6500 and zooms away.
It has plenty of takeoff, the accel uphill is a tad less but the big problem
is that at 15 MPH it jerks! I think it used to disengage at 20 MPH so I did
something to change that. Maybe the weights are too heavy and I need
to drill them out again?

For reference, do you know the size and weight of the stock rollers on the Yager?

Well I didn't measure them but this chart shows the Dink200 as
20x15 16.5 gm which I believe is the correct original stock size.

I went back to stock weight as the belt was moving up the variator then the clutch would
kick in and pull it violently back down. I was afraid it would kill my belt. I read something
interesting today though.
" I aim to max out the variator at my estimated top speed at the max power RPM. "
I notice that when you max out the variator the RPM's climb very slowly. In stock form
mine maxes out at 59 MPH then slowly climbs to 65 ish. If you follow the above statement
then I should make them lighter until I "max out" at 65.
Of course I did a slight mod to "max out" higher but haven't had a chance to test it. The weather's
been a bit cold around here lately. It's supposed to get up to 65 by Turkey day though so stay tuned!

Here's a cheap mod from Russia. I understand it will let the rollers
go out further and push more on the movable pulley but what keeps
them inside? I wish I knew Russian to know what he is saying...

I've run across variator "notching" before. Here's a link to a guy who modifies Honda Hobbit moped variators to similar effect:

Haven't tried it myself, but I have a bunch of old CH80 Elites that aren't under warranty anymore. ;D

Those CH80's could use a few tweaks. My first scooter was one of those. Make sure you have
room for the belt to go out further on the variator then you might try doing this;

Just make a depression so the roller can move out 1mm, then make sure the two pulleys can
get closer (you might need to take 1mm off the hub of the fixed pulley).
Lighten the rollers a little and she should be singing...
