Title: Variator / Clutch Upgrade
Post by: agilebda on October 23, 2012, 01:04:10 AM: Hello guys. I am about to a 300 GTi. How may of you are running performance clutches such as Malossi, Dr Pulley, Polini, etc.....
Any gains with torque or top end performance?
I had malossi on my 125 and it was a completely different GTi. It was awesome!

break. So you have to search for something they say will fit your exact bike. For
many of the bigger Kymco's there isn't much. If you want to do an upgrade you
should consider some Dr Pulley's sliders. They'll give you a bit more performance
and don't cost too much.

Your bike is fairly new and I haven't seen it posted yet...

The Malossi store lists them at 20x12 14gm for the stock ones.

I am leaning toward the Polini for the simple fact that they have a new variator which has a self lubricating bearing to eliminate sticking on take off.
I have also looked at the J Costa which has few reviews but seems to be the best performer.

What are your thoughts? Any of you guys running these variators?

Post by: agilebda on May 16, 2013, 07:56:30 PM: My 300 has no low end. My GTI with a malossi clutch has more take off than the 300. Just experimenting on variators. Not trying to change the horsepower, just want better and faster acceleration.

Course, I'm an old guy with a DT 300i and think it works pretty well as it is. Different folks for sure, but just let it break in first so you can collect some specifics to know if your mods are effective.

Thanks dee dee. I will try those Dr. PULLEY sliders. I guess the whole variator may not make much difference.

Post by: de dee on May 21, 2013, 03:07:07 AM: your klacky clack noise is the rollers in the tranny moving around , the sliders do it too,. not as loud , my scoot is very quite, I just remove my hearing aids,. very low wind noise too,. ha ha dont get old it gives you a pain in the butt., ,
