Hello,
I'm thinking about getting a Like 200i and was wondering what prices people have been getting. I did notice the MSRP changed since last year. Currently $2,699. What should I expect after fees?
Thanks!
-
I paid out the door just under $3,400. That was at 2012 old pricing of $2,599.
-
we paid $3200 including our financing company's docking fee for our 2013 200i LX. We did not get charged a setup fee. Just taxes, license and registration.
-
I paid $2499 plus tax. I would never pay addon fees like prep or freight. Those fees are simply extra profit for dealers as he MSRP is set to allow a reasonable profit even after the all legitimate dealer costs have been paid.

Funny you should say that Sonic. At another dealer we were shopping Scooters at, they were trying to charge an outrageous set up fee. I wanted to test the waters and see what the sales guy would say if I told him that I didn't want to pay the setup fee. He didn't even object. Not even a little bit. He said sure, no problem. Never bought it from that dealer, but it goes to show you that the setup fee is not carved in stone.

Hello, I paid about $3100 for my 2012 200i LX. The bike was $2899 delivered to my driveway. I then did the DMV document stuff and of course insurance ($103/yr). My dealer also threw in the first scheduled service! :D

Wow thanks all! I'm planning on buying in about a month and was discouraged after I got an email quote of $3,600 OTD from the local dealer!!
Living in San Francisco might add a bit to my cost but it would be wonderful if I only had to worry about tax, DMV, insurance as additional costs.

That's one of the good things about Oregon, NO SALES TAX ! ;D

For the 200i do not pay anything more than $3100 out the door. If they want to sell it to you badly enough they will be reasonable about the price. I'm just adding on an additional $100 because the tax percentage is a bit higher up there than down here in LB.

Most dealers in CA will charge you freight. Figure somewhere between $175 and $385. Setup fee they may waive as a service tech cost is about $45/hr (service tech salary+benefits) for about an hours worth of work.

Thanks everyone! I should have my funds lined up in the next 2 weeks so I'll report back then!
On a related note! I will have to finance some of the scooter so I can invest my cash in some decent safety gear so I wanted to see if anyone has a recommendation as to where to get a scooter/motorcycle loan in California. I've checked out Chase(they said they no longer offer moto loans), Patelco Credit Union (11% apr even with excellent credit), SF Federal Credit Union(classifies Scooters as
"Recreational Vehicles" like ATVs or RVs so their quote was around 6-7%). I know that Kymco has a special going on but wanted to check around first. Suggestions?

Kymco has a good partnership with Sheffield Financial. We put down $1,000 and financed $2,200. Our 2 year loan at 5.9% APR puts us at $100 a month. Very manageable. We live in CA too. Check out their site: www.sheffield financial.com (http://www.sheffieldfinancial.com)

Do you belong to a credit union? The generally have good rates. Many banks are not consumer friendly. I hear good things about Fremont Bank. I have not dealt with them, but some of my friends dd a refi with them and are were very pleased with the process.
-
here in canada car or moto loans are about 7 or 8 %, but if you have assets, try and get a line of credid, it is about 4 % here,

HEY!
I am the proud new owner of a black Like 200i! It ended up being $3,200 out the door with a free chain lock, moto cover plus a discount on an Alpinestars jacket and free delivery.
I ended up going with the Sheffield Loan at 1.9%.
Thanks for all the help! I expect I'll be having more questions soon enough haha
