Has anyone ever used belt dressing on there scoot.
and is it worth it.
-
Yes, and NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER USE IT. :o :o :o :o :o
Its designed for fixed drive belts NOT a moving and sliding CVT set-up.
I got some off an engineer at work who said it may work good and stop belt slippage. It did, my belt didnt slip at all, gearing didnt work, ran like crapcand i spent ages washing it all out my CVT. Its just for motorised belts than run between two fixed drives that dont move, like old pedastal drills, fan motors etc. NEVER USE IT ON A SCOOT. EVER.

good to know thanks.........

I prefer mine with a little Thousand Island, goes down easier. ::) :D
honestly you should never use it on any belts, just gums things ups and can ruin things if used often

Belt dressing for any "V" drive fixed or not is a TERRIBLE IDEA!! The stuff was invented to "save" replacing worn-out "pulleys" which are properly called "sheaves" in the industrial power transmission field. Its use tends to increase the heat generated by the drive while in operation and reduce the power and torque output of the drive because the belt has to be "peeled off " each sheave. CVT heat does NOT need to be increased for any reason. And like Steido said it pretty much stuck his in one spot. Additionally, the sticky stuff usually attracts fuzzy stuff which makes the drive slip. You otta see the mess in a textile factory when one of the dummmies in maintenance uses belt dressing. Can you say, "Tar and Feathered?"

We used it in our sewing thread rewinding machines in a factory where i was once. The machines have very long v-belts and required belt dressings.
