I sold my friend an elite and a zx 50 engine, he built them and took a video of the CVT in action. It shows how a CVT works

He has the cvt pretty well set up. Nice Vid! I like the conversion too. The Spree is TINY, and must fly w/ the ZX engine.

I havent really "watched" a cvt in action, it was very informative. We put 3 different springs on it, and maybe 4 variators and 3 different drive faces on it. Along with different weights. I figured out to make a wheelie machine you just put a super stiff rear spring (2k) in and light front rollers( less than 40g), of course it will destroy your belt but man is it fun to pop a wheel with just a slight turn of the throttle.

In playing around I had done the same set up about two years ago. I used a set of 4.5gr rollers, and a red contra spring. The belt lasted about 3 hours of wheelies. This was just to play w/ my buddies kids. I went back to normal on the new belt.

It was the most fun I ever had on a scooter, well worth the 35$ for the new belt.
