I changed the rollers on my agility 50 (derestricted)
I was able to cruise along at 42- 45 mph (speedo) prior to the change.
The old rollers were getting pretty worn with a lot of low spots.
Now that I have changed the rollers to 5.5grams, The takeoff is quick and good but when the scooter gets up to about 35mph, it struggles, the rpms sound like they are whining and the valves start to tap if I go close to 40.
Do I have to adjust the valves when You change rollers?
I'm also thinking maybe I have the rollers in wrong.
I am thinking of trying both things tomorrow.
The scoot was running great before I fixed it.
Any thoughts? thanks

Since 6,5 grams are standard, i think your rpm are a bit high. Try heavier rollers.
-
Absolutely correct. The rollers are too light for your set up. 6-6.5 will get it back.
-
Yup. Too light prob. Keep them tho for future tuning, if you get around to modding and tuning more you will find a set up that they will work on. 5.5 g's were my fave weight, till i found 5.1's. :). But i got a whole lot more going on in my cvt etc so they prob would not work well for your set up.

I forgot to add that I bought sliders, not rollers.
Does that change anything?
-
They could be installed wrong. Seems like some people have difficulty installing sliders.
Never tried them just rollers here.
-
They act like 4.5's is the issue. Sliders in my experience "act" 1 gr lighter. Get 6.5's if you wanted 5.5 rollers. If your original rpm's were good get 7.5 sliders. If you wanted more rpm then get 6.5 or 7gr sliders
-
same on mine. stock springs and changed rolers to 5.5 still gets 40mph on flat takes a wile.but revs higher. ran a little better on 6g- 6.5.g will change springs next month and try 5.5 again after that

..yeah, this is true of Dr Pulley sliders...
..ninja sliders, not so much..
..i had previously praised the ninjas, because they worked differently (better?) than rollers in my scoots..
..i've come to realize now, that the dr pulley sliders perform 10 times better than the (same weight) ninjas..
..i will chronicle this in my "sister-sister" thread later today...
-
I had put the sliders in wrong. It looks like they were upside down.
I took the scoot for a 2 mile spin and it ran great.
Very good accelleration from the start. Nice and smooth.
It looks like I did lose the expected 2 miles per hour or so top end.
Now on to find a shop that will mount my new rear tire for me.
Thanks for the help.

Here are the previous rollers, they were in bad shape.
-
..here was my first set...
-
I wish I had Picts of the Prodegy Ruk var. Everything was in pieces. Even the roller barrels.
-
..eye-opening to say the least...
-
Some like rollers some like sliders what ever works best for you stick with it.most the time if I find something that works best ill stay with it. never tryed sliders my self because I like rollers.
-
..i too liked rollers until i tried dr pulley sliders..

just to ask peeps, if i wanted to install some dr pulley jobbies and i wanted to keep normal pull-off and top speed do i just go for 1g heavier than stock rollers?
-
That is what I would do. It should keep your rpm about the same.
-
..and the thing is, you may need 1gr lighter...
..or a half-gram heavier, to really get dialed in....
..each scoot reacts differently..
..i've also found waay different performance between ninja sliders and the dr pulleys...
