Post by: ScooterBear on August 16, 2012, 06:00:49 AM
Hey scooties!

I have a new (to me) Kymco People 250. I'm planning on taking a long-ish trip and was wondering if any of ya'll had any advice on what to include in an emergency tool kit.

Thanks

I would also take a 8mm 10mm 12mm 13mm and 14mm box wrenches and sockets. I also carry a 3/4 or 19mm long wrench and my cvt holder tool to change the belt. I also carry a hand full of extra bolts in case. I ride almost 180 miles a day and have done road side fixes many times with this kit. I also carry an 18mm socket for plug. I made the cvt tool from a kitchen sink tool that you can buy at a hardware store for under 10 bucks and some bolts. there are several pages that show how to make one.

I'm not a mechanic so I only take tools I know how to use.  Screw driver, plyers, allen wrenches, knife, light, most importantly a phone.  A tire pump might be a good idea.
