Anyone know if they make kn air filter for 2012 uxv 500 and if so does it make any improvement

Do not put a KN filter on an off-road vehicle.  It will make a minimal difference at most and well positively let dirt into your engine.  Stick with the stock foam or paper element and keep them maintained.

Are you talking about a replacement element or a cone type box less filter?

The K&N web site will list your machine if they make a cartridge for it. Lots of guys here will buy a larger blank for another machine, and cut it to fit their frame.
 If you mean a Cone type I also suggest staying away from them if you ever get into wet riding situations. The factory air box works well at keeping water out.

Sounds like good experience there.  Clean seems to be the key.
