Title: Malossi contra spring?
Post by: Cortez on August 09, 2012, 09:48:22 AM
I need some help deciding which contra spring to use on my DT300 which now has the
Malossi Multivar and 23gr Dr Pulley sliders (great setup, could have lived with 24gr too).

However, the revs are sometimes all over the place, and you can find yourself cruising at
5500.. and sometimes over 6500 revs.

Will a softer spring fix this?
I'd like to get to the "top gear" as soon as possible, and still be able to make the bike
rev out like it does now when I nail it.

One thing is bothering me though.
I understand the differences between different colors of malossi springs, but how the hell
can I know how stiff the stock spring is?! It might be even softer then the white malossi,
or stiffer then yellow, so maybe even the yellow would work.

Any ideas?

I got the yellow with my CVT but I haven't tried it yet (was waiting to see how the sliders
worked in this setup).

Does oil flow through your cvt cover? You can always take the cover off after you start a scoot and watch the cvt in action. but obviously not if oil flows through it with out a plug. Easiest way to make sure you hit full overdrive and vice versa.

I have no idea what you're talking about (the oil thing) but I'll make my question simpler:

Is the White Malossi contra-spring softer then stock or not?
Hopefully someone will know this.

I need a softer spring.
