Post by: Jetstreamer on May 31, 2009, 03:51:19 PM
I was wondering what is the best upgrade from my stock exhaust?

If you are running a 4 stroke you will be throwing your money away , there will be no noticable performance increase . Good luck .

:-\ I don't want to change something that dramatic. Would a new jet and air filter help much? And as far as parts go, are ours interchangeable with GY6 parts?

Add an aftermarket air-cleaner and go with a larger main jet, the exaust IMHO is a waste of cash unless your going to add the big bore kit, there is also two different kits available now. There is a 80cc kit which is actually only a 72cc and there is the big bore 80 kit which is a true 80cc. If you chose to go that route make sure you get the true 80 kit.  but then you might have to ask someone here that has already done this ( i havent yet) as to which exaust to order if you do the upgrades..the 50cc or the 80cc? lol

on our forum (www.4Tskuteri.com) we talk about three kinds of 80 ccm kit: 80, 80+, and "real 90" (made by NCY). However, only 80 (72 real) goes with stock engine head and valves, 80+ and "real90" must go with performance engine head with  bigger valves. So, for beginner - best solution  is 80 kit

Thanks for the site but there seems to be a bit of a language barrier! :(

So by installing the 72cc big bore kit and larger main jet, I will not need to upgrade my stock exhaust? Will modding it by cutting it or straight piping it improve performance?
