right...where do i start.......
just got a txt from my younger sister saying that my step dad is going to give me his bike FOR NOTHING!!!
its a Suzuki VS V-twin Intruder 400cc
im still in a state of shock....and also a state of sadness (the agility might have to go :'( )
-
...well con-fukn-gratulations!!!!
..woww!!...what a frikin sweet deal!!!
>>>>>>>>>FREE!!<<<<<<<<<<
-
Keep it for short trips, ya know. It probably gets better mileage and depending on whether or not you have to keep insurance on a 50cc in your area, it's free to keep as well.
But getting cash by selling it is pretty awesome too, I understand.

yea i know right!! couldnt turn that down.. i would have to be mad not to take it.
just feel a little sad that i will have to sell the agility after everything we have been through, she has served me very very well... i will be sad to see her go. and even though i wont have a kymco i think i will still come on here to keep in touch, your great guys and have helped loads in my times of need.
-
..dont go away wk!!
..keep the kymmi!!!
-
im still trying to figure it all out. i dont want to sell the scoot cuz i really like her and the engine is set to be a trailblazer going on the fact she wants to keep accelerating but the rollers wont let her (flys up to 38-40 then the belt slips) + (new rollers going in soon and clutch & bell) should hit the 50+ mark. if i can sumhow keep the suzuki AND the kymmi i will be very very happy, but i will have to cross that bridge when i come to it.
-
..what grm rollers?? running only up to 40??...
...where'd i miss all that..

..what grm rollers?? running only up to 40??...
...where'd i miss all that..
thats all on the other thread "norfolk beast part 2" the rollers that are in there at the minute are worn to buggery so they have little to no weight and a tonne of flat spots but i have a set of 6.5's that i can put in.
so i have amazing take off and great up to 35 then it really struggles and because the rollers are so worn the variator isnt expanding enough to move the belt to the edge but the engine is still trying to build the rpm so then the belt slips, so i have to drop the rpm to avoid shagging the engine, i will also put a 1500 torque spring in because im currently running a 2000 and its too strong and wont let the belt ride up the variator. shall all be sorted soon.
by the way this is the new bike i have been given

yea its all fun tuning scoots, actually i loooove tuning scoots. once i have the new rollers, clutch, bell and weaker spring in i shall upload a vid of the Ag in action.

i will have two 2 stroke smokers hopefully. the agility was already giving 2 strokers a run for there money when she was a 50cc standard.

not a massive fan of the 2 strokes, i see em as engines that are always on the edge of death and at any moment might have a heart attack and try and take you with em.
-
...NOOO!!!...you just gotta treat'm with tender love and care, that's all!!
-
They're like women. You gotta treat em right but they still bitch every once in a while. The great thing about them is when they do break they're much easier and less expensive to fix.
-
..got that right!!!
especially if it just top end..

true very true, but then again 4 strokes arent that hard to fix either really. but i do agree 2 strokes are easier to tune and fix....and go a hell of alot faster....just look at what zombies doing with his zx monster.

Yo WK>>> Chop that 400 into a Cafe racer. I did one about 12 years ago. It's not a fast bike by any means but it makes a hell of a back road racer. Lowered forks, and rear spring make a hell of a difference in cornering, and all that tin on it will bring a fe wPounds at the scrapper.

oooooo i do like the sound of that...when i saw the pic my balls tingled :o
will have to give it some thought, but it definatly sounds like a good idea, plus with shortening it she will looose afew pounds.
-
WK i could not get a 2000rpm torque to work in mine on ANY roller weight i tried, even went up to 8g!! So tjat may be your main problem there. Also think of shaving down the boss by 1mm-1.2mm to let the inner variator get closer into the outer. I used to get similair issues at 45mph on mine till i lathed my boss down to 36.8mm from the stock 38mm.
Keep the Kimmi, chop the bike. If you dont chop it the you need go buy some cowboy boots for riding it ;D
Even better swap out the bikes engine and drivetrain into the kimmi, now that would scare folk around Norfork
-
right im picking up Suzie tommorrow hopefully, but there are some hurdles i have to clear first.
she hasnt been ridden in 3 years so she will need a full service....i was thinking that would be the oil, trans oil, sparks, drain petrol (if any) new battery, check chain tension, valves in theory should be ok. tell me if ive missed anything off.
i hope to get her moving so i can get her to the MOT station so i can tax her and get her used to being used again, she needs alot of TLC.
-
Rear sprocket may need attention? May be ok if it was ok before it was laid up tho.
Cowboy boots - Check.
Stetson - Check.
:P

yea whole bike was in top notch condition before being laid up. so i guess thats all that will need doing. oh and its not a 400 like i thought, my younger sister got mixed up its a 125 v-twin with 400 miles on the clock, my step dad only used it to pass his test. that will be good if i could get it moving, i will be buzzin.
cowboy boots and stetsons are on order as well as a stick-on handle bar tash and aviator sunglasses....yeeeeehaaaaaw

If it's just a 125cc you absolutely have to have a Buffalo skull for the cowl. Vivo can send you one.
-
Awww... F that sh**. Stick with the agility
-
Don't let go of the ag white! you'll miss it!
Coooool !!!! Now, you're a real knight!!!

That exhaust looks some length on the bike? Or is it just the camera angle?

ooooh im carefull, i always get off on the opposite side of the bike so i dont melt my legs. when im riding my legs are kept warm by the engine. just need to get the fork oil seals replaced as the original ones have perished a little.
-
..nice bike wk!!

1/2oz of Brake fluid in each fork leg. It softens the seals allowing them to work again.

..my cobra fork shocks are stiff and noisy..
..i might need to do this..
..might just need to be ridden some..it's been idle a while...
-
If they are just stiff try changing the fork oil. I use 8wt Belray
-
..it's improving a bit as i ride...
..the cobra hasnt been ridden in several years...
-
nah the actual seal are cracked around the edge so they are beyond saving. just need to get em replaced and all will be good.
-
You might want to get a set of bellows to protect them in the future. Moto cross shops have them in cool colors, and they are cheap. The reason they cracked is sunlight. The bellows will protect them, as well as the sliders from rust.
-
..the cobra has them...
..starting to like th' cobra...
:-*
-
It is the bike that started that style. The China sh** bikes are still copying it today.

First notice the alloy wheels, the Kymco has the 3-spoke... then most of the Chinese copies have 4 stroke engines....
-
You need some paint Slinger!!! red/white is bad ass. Looks bigger too.
