So, ever since I bought the DT I've wished for a cup holder. Well, I finally put one on and thought I'd share, in-case you are interested. It's a RAM Cupholder (no affiliation). The photos tell most of the story. However, there are a few things to note. The bracket has a V in it so when you tighten things down, it won't pinch wiring running through it. There are some bolt coverings that I didn't put on. And there is a rubber cup insert for cans that I didn't put in. Because it uses to articulating balls, you can pretty much situate the cup where you want. It doesn't cover the gauges, so nothing is lost in visibility. It's very easy to remove. If driving with a large drink as in the photo, it can become top heavy, so if you hit a rough bump in the road, I can see the drink becoming unstable, but so far I haven't lost one. Otherwise, works better than I'd hoped. I was a little worried about the weigh of the drink, putting pressure on the mirror, but to my untrained eye, my fears were unfounded. There doesn't appear to be any flexing, but like I said, I'm not an engineer.

looks good.....for me i simply have tied a ski hat (one with strings/tie)....to my right side black grip....made of wool....i use it to carry coffee and cold drinks.....it actually functions like a pouch.....upside down.....need to be careful with the coffee , however,.....need to use top with no slit in lid vrs...other type....which has slit in it for sipping.....whatever works.....

Here's what I installed, works good.

duesouth, instead of adding another self-eveling cupholder thread I thought I'd post mine in here with yours so all the different attachment methods are in one place. So here's how I did mine:
After reading in another thread about our large food portions I realized that I wasn't being very patriotic without having a method to mount my gigantic morning beverage. :)
I liked Beatlenut's cupholder location but it didn't work well for the beverage of my morning ritual, a large sweet tea, as it was just a little too close to the bodywork. So I used the "marine" mount of the holder with a round flat base and did a little modification. Here is the mount showing the round base, RAM part number "RAM-B-132U":

Here is my modification to the base done:

How it fits into opening where the "hook" was located (it matched two of the existing holes in plastic body panel and I had to drill two more):

Picked up some stainless steel mounting hardware and did a little blackout work with a permanent marker:

Trimmed of the square raised thingy on the back of the body panel (first broke off main part with a pliers and then trimmed smooth with razor blade):

So far it's working well - I haven't torn the body panel off the scooter yet.. :)

Good job, to me this the best location
-
It could probably be mounted swiveled downward to the area in front of the seat but then I'd have to move it for fueling - still may try it though..
-
Looks good. I like your location better bdrannik, couldn't think of how to do it. The only reason I didn't peruse that location more is because I want to add a Givi tank bag for weekend trips and I'm not sure if they require the hook to secure the bag.

Not sure how much storage space you need but the Givi S850 handlebar mounted bag fits quite well on the DT300i and has a clear window on top to mount a GPS or phone in for navigation. Currently out of town so can't take any photos but here are some on Google:

I use the tunnel bag and just use Velcro to hold it in place. Worked fine on my 7000 KM trip a couple of months ago.

I missed the "weekend trips" use for the bag you need - I guess the S850 would be a little small.. :)
