Title: Xciting 500i 2007 rear wheel spacer
Post by: ernie on August 04, 2012, 10:27:31 PM
Can anyone clarify the correct way to put the rear wheel spacer (inner wheel collar) onto the rear axle.  One end of the spacer has a larger diameter than the other and I was wondering if the larger diameter end should point towards the drive belt side or the muffler side.  The previous owner of my 500i had a new back tyre put on and they made a bit of a mess stripping two threads on the rear swing arm and I am not sure if they put the spacer in the correct way.  I am assuming that the larger diameter end of the spacer should point towards the drive side with the smaller diameter end pointing to the muffler, however, I could be wrong.  Can anyone kindly help please.

Iwould think it will be the same as the DT300, large side to the gear box or against the wheel. Small side to the grease seal on the muffler side.

Thanks for your reassuring reply.  Kymco maxi scooters are quite rare here in Scotland and getting any useful information on them is not easy but I appreciate your comments.

Yep, confirmed on my 500X, large end toward the gear box.
