Congrats Big O. Hope you enjoy the big XC as much as you did the little one.

The big xciting rocks. Super quick, stable, quiet and downright euphoric. My xciting 250 was awesome. I am sure this is love with my new to me xciting 500 ri.

If you want a sporty 1 cyl. scooter, there is only one. Nexus 500. If you want comfort, Burgman 650. Xc500 does its job too but it's not fast, more relaxing I think. But it depends what you are used to.

The xc500 ri is plenty quick. I hit 95 mph. It was fast enough. I spend my life in town. I need quick 25-55 mph. I might log 5 miles of highway per week. The xciting 500 is a dream come true.

The X500 is not the fastest, biggest, quickest, best cornering etc Maxi scooter in the world. But to me it does all of the above very well, if not the best all around maxi there is. And at a great price. It is one of the best touring bikes I have ever owned. (To me), the burger 650 is to big, heavy and costly, but the most comfortable maxi out of the box. The Honda silver wing set's you to close to the bars, and is not comfortable on touring rides. You can't slide back far enough, and cost way to much. The Yamaha T-max is the sport bike of the maxi's. But it is to tall, (can't put both feet down), & cost to much. I think the X500 is the best all arounder on the market, and you can't beat the price. I did not include any of the 400's because I do not feel they are powerfull enough to do REAL two up full-long day touring. Please remember, all I really do is tour. So this is where my perspective is comming from. :-* LET THE REBUTTALS COMMENCE! :-*

It has been a pleasure to ride. I have logged about 2500 miles since purchase. It is by far and away the best bang for the buck big scoot out there. I will be riding tomorrow!

I want the x500 but it's not practical for my purpose. I'd be stuck in traffic if I have that big thing... I don't tour... My super 8 is for my daily commute to and from the office... It really depends on ones purpose... I needed an automatic ride with a floor that's fuel efficient...

Big O, same thing happened to me when I bought my orange 2007 X500. I could not get off it. The bike I had before was not comfortable, so I only put about 18,000 miles on it in about 5 years or so. Normally I would ride about 20-25,000 miles per year not including vacations, if I could take one that is. I put a givi shield and large shad box with back rest on it and never looked back. Wife loves it. Our longest two up day was 500 miles. At end of day, it was like we had never been on a bike. No sore butt, back etc. :-* :-*
