Title: Gas/fuel guage reads full all the time
Post by: The Rookie on July 18, 2012, 10:54:46 AM
As per title, the fuel level gauge reads full all the time, even after over 100miles of use when I could put nearly 5L(1 imp gallon, 1.2 US gallon) in.....float bowl moves freely and it reads full even if I hold it down - any thoughts?

the ball in the gas tank is stuck on full.there a ball that floats in the tank that tells you how much gas you have. You may try sticking something in there to free it up but be carefull if it wont come free with a little tug just let it be.

Yes looks like a tank out job to access the sender although I haven't had the rear panels off.....

the sender sits on top of the tank . its a pain to get to because of all the plastic.
its better to just keep a eye on how much gas in in the tank.

Once you get the trick, the plastic can be removed in a couple of seconds after removing the 4 screws keeping it in place. ;)
