Dear all,
as this exhaust looks quite stock-Style, i would like to buy it, as i heard there will be a power increase with my 90cc
big bore...
Has anyone tried it yet?
Thanks Markus
-
i would say you will need to check the pipe dia. and there might also be a washer in the inlet held on by 2 spot welds. i take it your running a big valve head on the 90? if you can match up the sizes then you might get away with it but you dont want the pipe to be smaller as that would restrict the flow out of the engine. i have a naraku crossover or "tweed weave pipe" as its now known and i will have to remove a washer and bend it to fit onto my head (im still running a 50cc head with a 72cc cylinder)
-
Hey whiteknight!
Yeah running with the big valve cylinder head... BGM Kit...
I know about the welded restriction... in the description the pipe seems to be bigger and fit my cylinder with no problems...
Anyway i will write a quick review including sound file.... it looks as if nobody tried it yet...
Here in Germany we try to keep the original look, so that our officers dont get too suspicious about the tuning ;)
Cheers Markus

cool, nice one. yea give a quick write up of it, i was gonna go for one of those myself but went for the crossover instead. good thinking with making it look near standard she will be a "sleeper scoot"
-
Yes sure, just waiting for it to arrive... 8)
I know the Crossover...are U happy with it so far ?
-
hmmm well im happy with it as far as looks go but i cant fit it to my bike...the manifold end of the pipe is off centre so i cant bolt it to the head, i can bolt it to the bracket at the back but its about 5mm away from the outlet and 5-10mm off center of the outlet
i will have to find somone with a blow torch so i can heat it up and bend it to fit.

i just saw you have a Agility, as far as i know there a 2 types of Crossover models for Kymco 50cc Scoots... one for the Super 8 and one for the other kymco Models...
The Super 8 4-Stroke is special as it has 2 rear shock Absorbers... Maybe you should check it out....
I just mounted the Naraku Traffic und i love it...
A bit louder und deeper sound then the original...as for performance I couldn't run my scoot today as we had rain all day... :'(

cool man good that you like it..as for my exzaust it is the one for the agility its just abit off on measurments which i will sort out then i can let everyone know how it sounds and performs.

Maybe you could check with your dealer where you bought it?
Here´s a vid of my new exhaust: http://youtu.be/Vz7wcuZ8s-0 (http://youtu.be/Vz7wcuZ8s-0) ;)

i bought the exzaust from scooter attack, its no biggy about the probs im having because i will get em sorted soon enough. nice vid man looks good aswell. hope it performs well.

Sounds like you have a mis adjusted valve. (ticking) Nice bike.
-
Thanks Zombie... i found out, my clutch was kind of loose, but anyhow wanna check
my valve gaps...!
As for the power, 5 KM/H more Topspeed and better accelleration overall.... absolutely worth it!!!
-
It will haul ass when you get it sorted out. I'm starting to like the 4t's. They can make some power now.

ooooo you wait till mines all sorted.
-
Yeah it goes up to 80 km/h with no probs 8) and even more... at least thats what the speed-indicator says...
Still my clutch is making me mad, the big center screw loosens itself once a week.... today i put some Loctite (bolt adhesive), hopefully that will solve the issue.... ???
@Zombie sure the 4-Stroke rule 8) i get lots of angry looks when i leave the 2-Strokes behind...

My gy6 Var kept coming loose no matter how tight I made it so Blue lock tite did it so far. I had the same issue with the flywheel. It actually wallowed the key, and slot so bad I had to spray the inside of the flywheel, and bed it on the shaft with wet JB weld to get it all back in shape. The flywheel pulled right off after the jb cured, and its held up about 5 months so far of EVERY day. I have a 150 bike I can get for a transplant engine and I do plan to build a monster gy6.

Hows this for an idea... Taking the exhaust side of a turbo, and throw it out. Mount the intake side directly to a ported gy6 head. Attach your carb/manifold to the top of the turbo, and drive it off the engines cooling fan via belt/jackshaft to the turbine. I believe I can make this turbo work... http://www.ecotrons.com/Small_Engine_RHB31_VZ21_turbocharger.html (http://www.ecotrons.com/Small_Engine_RHB31_VZ21_turbocharger.html) Run a 24mm flatslide, 7/8" exhaust, and be golden.

Drive belts...

:D Wow Zombie, your plans sound exciting, but is this street legal? Here in Germany
I wouldn´t last long on the street hehehe... i try to keep it understated as the 50cc
are only allowed to run 45 KM/H (30 MP/H) ;D
Yesterday i put on some blue Loctite on the clutch nut... hopefully now i will have peace... >:(

hmmm... a blown scoot....

It will look just like that.

something like this.....
Question! How can you make your scoot peak rpm of say around 7-8,000 turn the turbo to more than 60-70,000 rpm? gearing?

as thats a supercharger and it runs off the crank you could use diffrent sized pulleys to multiply the amount of revolutions. try and put a smaller pulley on the charger and a bigger pulley on the crank. this should effectivly make the charger spin quicker at low revs and at higher revs it will be up near its performance range......in theory :P
-
Yes, but Zombie will be making one.... you need to spin to compressor very very very fast..... :P :P :P

yea thats why if you put a small pulley onto the compressor and a use a very large driven pulley, that will spin the compressor very fast. 1 turn of large pulley results in 5/10 turns on the smaller one.
-
That is what I was thinking. A tiny pulley on the turbo, and the modified fan as the larger driving pulley. I haven't put pen to paper on it as the whole idea is just beginning. I think an oil bath for the bearings is sufficient because there is no exhaust heat to deal with. It's just finding the correct gear ratio to drive it. Maybe a reduction drive transmission... It's still in that foggy dream state...
-
We're just talking about the spinning... the volume of air produced would be another story.... ;)
-
That's what I mean too. Spinning it up using the flywheel/fan. I think a groove cut into the flywheel for a flat style belt driving a reduction gear to the exhaust side of a turbo. It's not rocket surgery... The benefits are uncertain but maybe some junk yard parts to hash it out. Just a day dream for now but who knows.

take a look at how peugeot made the supercharger work on the 125 4 stroke. might give you some ideas on how it may work out.

Yes, I've seen that... I think the challenge on Zombie's homemade set-up would be the specs. Compressor size, pulley size, gears size, tubes, brackets, bolts, shafts, etc.
-
Mainly shaft true, and support are the biggies. The rest is pretty straight forward. Finding working model parts CHEAP is the issue. I would hate to throw a bunch more cash at another scooter. just a nice hobby type build.
-
@Zombie... here my new vid... still ticking, Valve adjusted, Intake 0,08 Ex 0,1..... what can it be that it is still ticking?
Naraku Traffic Kymco Super 8 90cc 4T (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6CBj-4avDo#ws)

One of the con rod bearings. Turn the crank by hand back, and forth to see if you feel any play or the actual click. If that is not a valve it is the conrod. Have you ever had the cylinder head off? Or more specifically the rocker arms? Did the rockers move freely when you adjusted the valves?
I want to be SURE that is not a valve ticking before telling you if it is the Conrod you will have to rebuild/replace the engine. From the sound of it I wouldn't venture far from home either. Actually I wouldn't ride it. It will break.
-
I hear a single "tok" sound when I turn off the engine. What would that be?
-
Hard to guess... Have you tried the same thing? Turning the crank back and forth to see if there is a bad bearing?
Maybe a sticking clutch pad returning? Worn slide bushings on the Var?
-
LOL @ the Supercharger. I don't think the engine has enough power to turn a supercharger. It takes power to make power with those.
-
Crankshaft bearings seem ok, i moved the crank back and forth.... no play or click so far...it began after exchanging the camshaft (Naraku Touring)
Is there a different Valve adjunstment needed because of the Naraku Camshaft?
-
I would suspect yes. Try going to .004 se if that quiets it down. You can try different closer settings till you find the best one or contact the seller/maker.
