I've tried ebay but didn't have much luck.
The dealer just quoted me $200 for the drive belt on my 2012 Xciting 500. From a previous post I saw a price of $175 (2007 model).
Are there any sources out there other than kymco? Those who have purchased them..were you happy?

The cheapest I have seen is at malossionline But the problem is it's made to work with their variator. It is kevlar, but several people have had bad results. Most belts I have found that are after market are not the same exact size. This is why until I find one that is the exact size as stock, I will stay with the kymco belt. I have spent to much $ on after market, only to have the belt snap in about 1,000-1,500 miles. The malossi belt is only 1 tenth of a milimeter wide from where kymco says to replace the belt. So it is more norrow than stock. So why buy a belt the will not last but a few thousand miles? Dayco makes a kevlar belt for the x500, but I am not sure it is the exact same size or not. I can't seem to find the exact length of the stock kymco belt? So I can not compare. Dayco will not sell a scooter belt in the USA. I found a place that will sell it to me from Austrailia, but with shipping, their is no real savings. :-*

Kymco belts are expensive for a good reason.
They last longer then any other so.. just get the OEM belt and forget about
messing around with aftermarket stuff. Most end up beside the road with
roadside assistance bill far beyond the price of the OEM belt.

Unless You have a ton of miles on your bike, you don't need a new belt. There are no belts available that are better than the original Kymoc belt/s.

It is exactly the same for the DT300. First one lasted 19000km second one only 4000km and rapped up in the pulleys. current one has about 5000km now and looks like new. forth one is under the seat just in case. Second one had to be defective. All were Kymco belts!

Guess I'm safe with the OEM belt for the first 15k, eh?
I put on 7kkm in the last 2 months.

I can't believe you only went 19k kms. I have 13k miles on mine and it seems to be working fine. When cold or low speeds, it howls a bit, and I will check it at the end of the season... that is, if it does not snap first.
