Hi all. I have a like 200i with 800 miles. No problem til its 1st tune up @ 600 miles(5 days ago). After the 1st tune up I have been riding longer than ever(100mi ride and a 50 mile ride). Today I checked the oil for the first time since the tune up and to my surprise there was NO OIL...dip stick was dry! Took it to the dealer who advised me nothing appeared wrong...he filled the oil half way and told me to keep it monitored. Just got back from a 50 mi ride and it appears there was about 1/4 missing..any comments?

I noticed mine uses oil as well. I check before every ride and top off as needed. There is no indication of a leak nor any smoke from the exhaust so I am not sure where it is going.
EDIT: I had been checking my oil level regularly and thought it was getting lower, however when I checked it today it is at the same level it was when I last changed the oil. I am thinking that it simply did not drain down for some reason when i checked the level before.

Check your spark plug. It may be fouled black if there is any oil getting into the combustion chamber.
Then I would check the rings/valve stem seals. Also check inside the cvt. If there is a bad crank seal the oil will get in there.

5w-30 thru to 15w-40 Castrol syntec. Hot weather needs heavier oil, and colder needs lighter. The more distance you travel per trip needs heavier as well. I've used Castrol for near 40 years in all types of engines, and I always will use it.

I used regular 10w30 dino oil for the 180 mile oil change but switched to Mobil 1 10w30 full synthetic at the 600 mile oil change. I will continue to use the Mobil 1 from here on out. I am currently at 976 miles and the oil is still as clean as when I first put it in.

"I am currently at 976 miles and the oil is still as clean as when I first put it in."
That is the big advantage of Synth oils. Less friction=less wear=cleaner oil
