Title: Running lights

I recently purchased a new (2010) people 150. I love the scooter so far, but those front turn signal lenses  that aren't utilized are a waste. I would  like to install bulbs and sockets in them and wire them with the headlamp to be running lights. Are there any potential electrical problems with doing this? I also would like to change the tail/stop bulb and the working turn signal bulbs to LEDS. Where can I find replacement bulbs?

I seem to remember somebody on here making those front dummy lenses work as turn signals and getting rid of the ones on the bars all together. I've thought about doing it myself.

The tail/stop bulb is any 1157 dual filament bulb. Of course LEDs have no filaments but you know what I mean. I bought one on Amazon and it worked when I put it in and then stopped. Needless to say I returned it. I guess I kinda just moved on. The turn bulbs are 1156 single filament.

Someone on the Kymco board on Yahoo Groups offered a kit for the P50/150 to make them work as turn signals. You can call them double contact or single contact...   ;)

I modded my scooter's turn signals this weekend. Put a socket for an 1157 (maybe 1156, I used the original bulbs) bulb in the housing and removed the factory turn signals under the brake levers.

I think it makes for a slightly 'cleaner' look.

I dremeled the housing and mixed up some two part epoxy to hold the sockets in place.

Anyone need the factory turn signals off an '02 P150?

I believe that Columbia Scooters Portland Oregon has a kit for the People to convert the turn signals to factory location.
