the manual that I found online for the zx50 says recommended is 20w20 2 stroke motor oil, but the stores around me (napa, pepboys, autozone, o reillys, etc.) don't have 20w20 2 stroke, can i just use any other 2 stroke motor oil, motorcycle oil, or normal motor oil? (synthetic or non)
thanks

Any 2 stroke oil will do but not crankcase "normal" oil. The two have different formulations/additives.

NO,NO,NO..... ANY 2t oil will not do......
I found out the hard way about the "chainsaw oil".....
Napa does sell 2t oil but i would not use it.....(more for chainsaws,etc)..
I PREFER MOTUL 800.. That some good stuff right there... It is $24.95 a bottle at any MC shop...or scooter shop..
MOTUL..BEL-RAY(carbons up more).. AMSOIL Are preferred choices i believe......

Oooops... I was referring to any 2t MOTORCYCLE oil of different viscosity... and not necessarily a 20w20..

Definitely go synthetic. Auto parts stores or walmart will not have what you need. Order it online or find it locally at a motorcycle/scooter shop. Don't worry about viscosity. Most don't even list it on the bottle. I run AMSOIL brand. Interceptor for injection and Dominator for pre-mix. They're both the same just dominator has red dye and is supposed to mix better. Both are about $12 a quart.

Tsk, tsk, all gas stations here, hardware stores, and even small sidewalk stores carry motorcycle 2t oils. Two stroke bikes are still used for daily transpo here.
