Yes. That is the Hero 2. I bought the Hero at BB and I thought... What?... the quality was just kind of average-ish so I took it back and stepped up to the Hero 2. Might keep it because the footage is fun to watch.

That's a good idea however, the camera is inside a waterproof case completely sealed.

A piece of foam will block the wind noise but you can still record engine sound ;)
