-
What's it going in first... Why did you get that one?
-
..it's going in nina, and i know the bell wont fit...itsa 16 spline, and s9 hassa 22...
..gonna break it in in nina, with my stage6 bell, hopefully they will co-mingle, or an oem..
..then it's going in my ppl build...maybe...
:o
-
But why the Dr Pulley... I've seen them around but never thought of using one. They are like a million bucks....
-
..yeah, 265...
..read this..it explains a lot....

Oh Hell no. Not More tuning options, and parts to buy... Hell no!
-
keeps on going and going ..... ;D
-
I've started to look into building a basic dyno to test spark curves. Like a ten speed trainer rack on steroids. I don't see any end to it.
-
...it does never end...
-
"slippily" is an awesome description.
-
...yeah, slippily...i hadda read that twice...lol..
-
If you take the time to set that clutch up right, you will soon realize that there is no other like it. Trust me. It grabs hard. The Stage 6 and the Dr Pulley HIT are the only two clutches I prefer use if I get a say in the matter. Sometimes budget dictates otherwise, but...
I use the HIT in my Super 9 that I'm building for race.
Enjoy!

I received the clutch thursday, but i was at wet-n-wild for a day of fun in th sun...

-
..emailed and called partsforscooters.com today, concerning my stupidity...
..those are some top-notch ppl they got there..
..since it is unused, and still in the original packaging, they are going to let me return the 105mm clutch..
..woww...i was scared there for a minute, since they have a no return policy on performance parts...
..thanx matthew, and tell stephanie i said hi!!

..dr pulley HiT...built on a new naraku driven pulley with a naraku performance torque driver..malossi blue 1500 contra.....me likey....
:D
-
..gates premium 748-18-28 drive belt...
-
..just looks like it should perform, huh?
-
..old 729 was slipping!!
-
...clutch..
-
..final tuning for tonite...my fingers are burned...lol..
-
That is a pretty ass set-up.....
-
..nina has a slight stall @ 8600 rpm at takeoff...
..this clutch transfers power in a way i aint ever tuned to..
..it's awesome!!!
..gonna go to the red 24kg flys tomorrow...
..believe they will launch and maintain @ 9000..
..my tech pipe likes that range...
..btw, back to the 5.7g sliders...they work best so far...
-
..it is purty...lol...
..performs purty fukin good as well!!!
;D
-
nina has a slight stall @ 8600 rpm at takeoff...
8600 rpm isn't a slight stall. That's a crazy high stall. That's what i was refferrring to on the phone. The Jasil springs i had in, she would rev to about that before even thinking about moving.. thats a stall to me.. Like a 3500 stall converter on a vehicle.. kinda, sorta, maybe but ina way not really....
-
...but we're moving pretty good at 8600...that's what i'm saying...gotta hang on to the bars!!!
;D
-
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO............ ;)
I see, said the blind man........ :D
-
..sso, i reckon it's not much offa stall, just a lag before launch!..lol..
..i like that word, "launch"...
:D
-
That's kind of how Haze was acting...
Again...the 1st 15-20ft slack as sh**, then BAM.. It's that 1st 15ft that chaps my arse.....
-
..i'm not chapped by those feet...
:o
..it's a grab, go..really grab, really go scenario...
..imma make a frikin vid!!!
;)
-
..imma make a frikin vid!!!
I iz waiting on dat shiznit....Fo-shizlle my-nizzle.... :D.... :o :o :o :o
Handle that....
..i'm not chapped by those feet...
that's cuz you the cvt man homey...
-
So what rpm do you "start" moving at?
-
...full throttle twist wide open, or easing slightly...
-
That has to get old. I can hardly take the sound of some pipes let alone WOT 24/7...
-
...omg...not you!!
-
...like i said, if i twist hard, she jumps to @ 8600 and GOES!!...LOL...
-
Which main and which pillow springs are you using on your setup?
I'd have to go double check mine, but I think I'm running the green mains, and I don't remember what pillows. Basically the stiffest they have to get the clutch engaging as close to 12,500 RPM as I can. I think the greens are 31kg or something, I don't remember though. I hope you like the clutch. I fell in love with it, and I don't think I'll go back to a regular clutch, that's for sure.
Happy tuning!
~Josh
-
..I LOVE THIS THING!!...
..currently running the yellow (19kg) mains..they are too soft...been going up one color/weight at the time, with the green (9.2) pillows...
..i believe the red (24) are going to dial it in...for a while at least...
..new 743 belt gotta break in some as well...
..i cant imagine nina running 12,500...wow...
-
Sounds like you're going about things the right way! It's definitely a super-nice clutch.
Next time you're out this way, I'll let you ride my Super 9. Then you'll be able to imagine 12,500 RPM. :P
~Josh
-
...i'm like you, j...i dunno if i will ever buy a different clutch than this one...
..i want one for all my scoots now!!
..wonder how it would work out on a 4t...
..and i definately want to ride that 12,500!!!
-
..well, finding out this bitch aint working...
..it has several mm wobble on the naraku driven pulley....
..wtf??..they both naraku!!..put the torque driver that came with the complete naraku clutch onnit...
..ssso...here we go!!
-
..getting some funky contact on the pads, as well..
..put inna a pratically new oem bell...
-
..there is a technique to changing these clutch springs...
..go in at this angle..with a small, strong flat-tip screwdriver...
-
..twist it counter-clockwise, and the spring pops right out!!
..eazy-breezy!!
;D
-
..installing is easy as well, you just need a smaller driver...
..start at this angle, and just stretch spring, while pushing it down the driver..
-
..if you get the angle right, it pops right in!!
..practice, and some sore fingers makes it happen..lol...
-
..pillow springs are even easier to swap...
..just pop'm out....
-
..easy install too...
-
..tried the HOCA bearing spring base...
..knew there was a problem while installing, because i couldnt fully compress the torque spring by hand...
..it won't work until i take @ 1/4" off the top spring support...
..this piece bottoms out on the bearing base, which results in belt slippage, lower top speed and way high rpms over 45 mph, with no further increase in speed...

That piece winds up sitting too high if installed on the 107mm set up It sits about 4-5mm too high on the pulley. You can modify a Malossi plastic ring to fit the pulley side, and use the bearing set on the clutch side. This set up turns a 1500 spring into a 2000 so you may want to try a Good 100 in this set to equal a 1500
-
..dont really want to increase my contra that much...
..that's why imma cut the top spring base down enough that it won't interfere with the HOCA base...

Josh has posted about those drive sets. Says they are plain weak. Malossi/Polinni both have drive sets in 107mm but I think they are around 400.00 retail. I'll look, and see what I can find for you. I need a set myself. Kind of asap.
-
..i'm now building this on the oem style naraku driven pulley and torque driver...
..so far, its working...
..i searched and searched for a complete performance/QUALITY driven pulley/torque driver combo..
...must be out there....
-
I need a set myself. Kind of asap.
..ME TOOO!!!
-
I'll call spi, and ask what he can do for 2 sets in either brand. Might be able to get him in the morning... (saturday)
-
...dr pulleys would be nice!!
-
..well, that oem bell is contacting better, if slippily...
;D
-
..think i'm pretty much done with using aluminum drive faces, for a long run anyways...
..dont know if it's visible, but this NCY is getting very groovy...
:-\
-
..aannd there was this with the naraku...
-
..put the 748 back in with the stable pulleys...
..dont wanna hear no sh** about all the dust, okay??..lol..
..imma clean all that before th blow-out!!..
;)
-
..fits like this...
-
..aannd thiss....
-
..put in this oem drive face, and boy!!..didnt that open a whole
...new can of worms....
:'(
-
..thank god i got this..
-
..can even remove these!!
-
..never been much on using a impact for tightening tho...
..still do that by hand...
..got the torque-o-matic elbow...
-
..today's tuning results determined that i need 5.5 gram dr pulley sliders...not ninja's, because they react differently...thighter, heavier..
..thanks to kenho for the slider link, they been ordered already, as well as some 6 grams..
..note: there is a .5 to .625 gram difference in weight reaction between the two makes of sliders...dr pulley and scooter ninja D-sliders...
..best i can tell with hot mod tuning today...
-
To get the clutch pads to hit square (this is dangerous) Take a flat sanding block, and hold it against the spinning clutch with the bell off, and the bike running on the center stand. My Malossi hit on all the forward corners till I blocked it down. I used three pairs of shop gloves too...
-
...i wondered if i should try something like that...
..you reading my mind??
-
Yup! Even a clutch needs to be tuned...
-
and find a different angle for the street. ..
..and sh** like that...
aint it crazy?!!
-
I just want a reliable 90mph street scoot... Is that too much to ask? (I'll settle for 80 in street trim.)
-
..no, its do-able...
..i just hope you got it rolling before september....
;D
-
..imma have nina screaming...
..unjinx!!..
..dammit...
-
The only parts Not in hand are the Ign. parts. I can run it but I can't use the power band. It gets 70mph easy but starts to DET around 10-11k rpm. 11.5-12k is where it starts pulling. I'm planning to swap the gears again this week, as well as a little more case work thru the intake area. I hope the Ign ships monday. I will have the bike ready for it. Planning on hitting it hard tomorrow...Head set/finish paint/maybe I'll get to the rewire for the new bar controls... I have to make a fiberglass mount for the gauges as well... Still haven't figured a style.
-
..i like the green...looks froggy, and cool as hell...
;)
-
It is a cool color combo. Just a whim. But I may wind up liking this one.
I haven't seen it all assembled yet
-
..pics look fukn awesome....
..you might really want to get one of these dr p clutches, bro...
..i swear, it's the most responsive clutch i ever bought..
-
Just bought the MKII... Don't need a clutch where I'm going~
-
..that mkII is also an awesome fukin clutch!!
...its adjustable to the infinite...
..dont trust the hash marks ultimately...
