Title: Powerband?
Post by: ido523 on June 19, 2012, 05:12:39 AM
Hi I'm new to the scooters and very excited as my super 8 is arriving in 4 days, my questions is, does anyone know the powerband
of the 2011 super 8 2t or how to find it?
thanks in advance!

But yeah, like Pimpy said, 3hp isn't going to have a "powerband" you can feel.

What is the purpose of the question? Looking for parts? You can get an easy 10mph by tuning the cvt.

Yes that's exactly what the question is for, tuning the CVT,
I thought it'd be better to know the power and of the engine
and tune the CVT so it stays within the range constantly, but
since there's no such thing as the powerband
for super 8, I'll just have to feel it?
Btw a friend told me I have to have a spare bottle,
Because I gotta pre-mix engine oil and gasoline and
Add it to the fuel tank is that right?
Thanks guys for all the info!

It has a power band. Every engine has a power band. It's just the ideal rpm range for that engine.

To be honest. Trial and error. Tuning the CVT can be very time consuming but rewarding. Best thing to do is buy a roller tuning kit(comes with a range of weights) and blue or yellow contra and fly springs. Buy sets with all three(blue, yellow, and red) if you plan on adding more mods later.

Don't be disappointed if it gets worse before it gets better. Like I said, trial and error.
