Ok brand new to this forum but have read tons of old posts... Great webpage for the agility 50 scooter !
So I was looking for a new toy and came across an agility 50 used. After some research I went and looked at it.
Ended up buying it for 800 bucks helmet included (2012 model with 788 km). Think I got a good deal.
Drove it around and decided it was restricted... Only got to 30 ish maybe 35 downhill. Cut the cdi with dremel tool
And took for a spin. Better got it to almost 40 mph. Then today put in a smooth drive boss and ahead is running pretty good.
Got it to 45 on flats and even 50 down a slight hill... Pretty nice. All speeds are mph.
Now I'm ready to modify some more other than the basics.... Although I am getting good speed on flats and downhill it is slow uphill.
Often it goes down to 30 and even 20 on decent hills... After looking around on here a lot I think I need some 5.5 gram roller weights and maybe a new variator. And more important for acceleration and hills would be 1500 clutch springs (3 small ones) and I guess I need to match it with a 1500 or 1000 large spring in the clutch??? When I do these mods plan on getting a kevlar belt too.
Please help advise me on the springs etc and if the variator would help my cause not just the rollers. Basically I want it to climb hills and accelerate better. I am pretty happy with my top speed so far but don't want to loose any of that either...
Thank you in advance!!!

The 3x small clutch springs wont help uphill at all, they are meant to increase initial take off from stopped. The big spring, contra/torque spring gets you uphill faster, along with lighter rollers. I use a 1500rpm rated one and 5.1g rollers, get up most hills between 30-40mph depending how steep they are, i only very rarely drop under 30mph but thats only on real steep gradients.
I avoid Kevlar belts as they make a complete mess in the cvt when they begin to fray or sometimes just explode in a ouff of dust and small pieces. They are good for racing etc but need constant checking and last no where near as long as a good quality rubber belt.
A race variator helps with smoothness and speed of acceleration usually, sometimes even gain a couple of mph top end too. Malossi multivar is prob the best imo, but there are others, some are cheaper too.
Sounds like your doing well so far, so carry on :)

Thanks for some input striedo... will get the new rollers and big/torque spring. I guess I might as well pop in new 3x springs in either 1000 or 1500. Not quite sure on those now. Will keep the factory belt since its basically brand new. Am going to also change the oil and gear oil too.
Any more insight/advice would be great!

need some 5.5 gram roller weights
Dr. Pulley round roller weights (http://www.partsforscooters.com/169-237_Dr_Pulley_Roller_Weights).
Consider referencing a tachometer (http://www.trailtech.net/tto_tach-hour.html) to determine which combination of variator weights and clutch contra-spring is most efficient for your objective.

Just to add, the 3x clutch springs dont have to be rated the same as the big spring is. I just happen to use 1500 for both. Tbh iddnt really feel that much difference, if any, when i put in mine, but then again if i was to replace them now with stock rated ones then i might feel it. If you have them anyway i would just stick them in, wont do any harm.

not sure what i will do with my clutch when i finally get it.. it will be a fully adjustable race clutch with a stage 6 clutch bell....i do believe Wordslinger has the same one.

Pussers...
The original name is Mac Lochlainn
Muirchertach Mac Lochlainn died 1166 or about... He was the last of three Mclaughlin Kings beginning with Érimón Muirchertach (eric red hand) somewhere around 1260bc. Proud Irish boy here... I still consider every Irishman I meet to be kin. All the Scotts are my cousins, and the English are just the drug dealing/welfare people that live across the way.
You are an Honorary Scotsman now WK so Welcome to the clan. Can wee kill your Queen?
