Title: GPS mount for a Kymco Like 200I?
Post by: aavena on June 17, 2012, 06:48:07 PM
Hello all, my name is Alex and I have been a very happy owner of Kymco Like 200I for three months now. I want to purchase a GPS mount for it, a Garmin Nuvi 1200. Any suggestions or advice which to get? I checked online and all I see are motorcycle mounts.

Hi Alex,
Here's the best GPS mount ever.  You will need to modify it to work with your GPS. Below are four pictures. You will need a hot glue gun to reinforce the openings and the hanger bar. You should enjoy the Macaroni Salad before attaching the GPS Mount.

This worked great for me. I used the bolt under the front brake (Cable guide secure) instead of the mirror mount. Very sturdy, water proof and has opening for power or headphones if you GPS has sound out.

Tuffguy, I like it! I especially like the Macaroni Salad label you left on for "looks."  :D
I live the DIY stuff. This is creative!

Yesterday I removed the windshield and the GPS mount and anything else that made my 200i sound like a lumber truck when I crossed any bump.
I'm back to the slick little scooter I started with.
I plugged a destination into the gps app on my Android phone, selected a play list on the phones mp3 player, popped in my earbuds, and tucked the phone into my pants pocket.
Perfect directions, great music and my scooter looks and feels like it did the day I got it.
I wish I had tried this before I bought all that crap I ended up taking off.

The KISS theory never fails to amaze me.
