Riding my peoples 200 I've started paying more attention to the sounds it makes, I notice that right up to 40 MPH or just above the engine sounds like it's purring, sweet smooth and steady. When I hit about 45 MPH you hear a distinct change in the sound. Not a struggle but a slight taxed sound, as you increase your speed this sound becomes more obvious but not uncomforting until you reach almost max speed.
Just wondering, at what speed does your engine sound most comfortable at?

Yes, because of your sweet pipes!!
Me? 30-40.
At high speeds, I hear the wind...

Every engine will have different harmonics. It is due to machining tolerances. They all have a most efficient "cruise" rpm but it will vary from bike to bike. There is really no way to evaluate anything from the question. every engine on the planet runs different.
