Title: White crap around exhaust welds
Post by: Hairy Bob on June 09, 2012, 10:55:31 PM
Just wondering if anyone has found white crap around the welded points on the exhaust and the mount brackets on the mufflers. It's mongrel stuff to get off, but with a good quality chrome polish and a lot of scrubbing (and swearing seems to help !), it does eventually come off. Must be the welding flux they use reacting with the chrome, that's my guess anyway. Anyone else had the same? ... Hairy Bob.

I've noticed that too. Kinda worried it will rust so I've put a thin coat of motor oil on all the 'white' welding parts I see. When I get the chance, I'll polish it off too :)
